Stonehaven based Paul Howey took up painting as a full time occupation in 2000 after 20 years working as an engineer. While largely self-taught Paul has attended classes at Aberdeen’s Independent Painters Workshop and Gray’s School of Art.
He works mostly in oils specialising in wildlife studies. Paul’s work is shown at dedicated Art Fairs and exhibitions throughout Scotland, his work being collected by wildlife enthusiasts throughout the UK. Having lived in Scotland for the past 30 years he finds his inspiration comes from the familiar birds close to home or at the local seabird colonies encountered while sailing and walking in the Hebrides.
